Halliday Wine Companion Awards is one of the most prestigious and most awaited awards of Australian wine industry. The results for this wine awards were recently announced and with here are the results for Xanadu Wines — one of the renowned Margaret River wineries established in 1977.

2016 Reserve Chardonnay (97 Points)
Xanadu has had show success and critical praise for its amazing Chardonnays. Resplendent in its generosity, this wine also maintains perfect balance. What attracts in this wine is its grapefruit flavour followed by characters of gauge beeswax and honey with acidity and oak doing their best at their places.

2016 Stevens Road Chardonnay (97 Points)
This Chardonnay has a complexity holding its own ground with grace. Precisely structured and weighted, the wine’s palate has an airy freshness that relaxes.

2016 Chardonnay (96 Points)
Right from the first sip, this wine shows its energy and complexity, lead by stone fruits, citrusy acidity and oak nuances on a harmonious back-palate and finish.

2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (96 Points)
This Cab Sauv has a cassis base with scented, spicy nuance that adds a dimension to the flavour completed by superfine tannins and not so medium body.

2017 DJL Sauvignon Blanc Semillon (96 Points)
Gold and trophy winner at 2017 Sydney Wine Show, this partial barrel fermented SSB has the texture and structure showing the excellence of the Margaret River region. Tropical and grassy/herbal elements are evident throughout the wine.

2015 DJL Shiraz (96 Points)

Deep crimson in colour, this wine comes from a line of distinguished wines at bargain basement prices. Elegant and juicy, the wine has black cherry fruit flavours, balanced & integrated tannins and oak inputs — totally exceptional value.

2015 Stevens Road Cabernet Sauvignon (95 Points)
With its fruit coming from Block 3 of the Xanadu vineyard, this wine was matured in French barriques (40% new) for 14 months. Combining elegance with length, balance and intensity, this wine shows blackcurrant, black olive and earth characters pumped by Cabernet tannins.
