Ashbrook Estate Wines — A Family Affair
Ashbrook Estate Wines was established in 1975 by the Devitt family and produced its first commercial wine in the year 1979. Its been a family affair since then. Currently, its managed by Carol and Brian Devitt along with daughter Catherine Edwards, son-in-law Kingsley Edwards and son Richard. This family business lies in the heart of Margaret River wine region that produces only premium handcrafted varietal wines.
Awards & Accolades:
James Halliday awarded Ashbrook Estate with five star rating in 2017, the highest rating given to only Australia’s top wineries. According to him, “This estate is one of the quietest and highest achievers in Australia, maintaining excellent viticulture and fastidious winemaking”. The Ashbrook Estate has won many awards over the years, and the latest achievements- Ashbrook Estate Verdelho was awarded a trophy and a Gold Medal for being the Best White Varietal Perth Royal Wine show in 2017.
They pay extra attention when it comes to pruning and the grapes are handpicked. Every year 12000–14000 cases of wine is produced.
International Presence:
The Ashbrook Estate wines have come a far way since its commencement, their wines cover major Australian cities — Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. A major share of sales comes from restaurants. They have made their presence in the International markets — Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Canada, USA and are planning further to expand.
Premium Handcrafted Wines:
Ashbrook wines uses screw cap closures to bottle their wines, to ensure freshness and longevity. Every wine from Ashbrook Estate has some distinctive characteristics like the Riesling wine exhibits more floral characteristics, thanks to its mild climate. Ashbrook arguably is also a premium producer of Verdelho. It won gold Medal & trophy for best white varietal Perth Royal Wine Show 2017. Other wines include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Shiraz. You will find all variety of wines to suit your taste.
Seasonal Newsletter:
For information, they release seasonal newsletter, which keeps their consumers aware of the latest information like new wine releases, events, latest achievements (awards). It also serves as a medium to communicate with the consumers. They release one in spring and one in winter.
